Good News About Ms. C!!
Marie is apparently “sailing” through her rehabilitation (as many folks had predicted, although working very hard) and Madonna says she is up to a 7 on the RANCHO scale. (See the link on the right side) She is still working on use of her right hand, but it is getting better; she still needs assistance when walking; her new goal will be to get in and out of her wheel chair, and bed all by herself without help, and walking “solo”. They are apparently still working on her speech and recall.
An interesting side to all of this is that she has developed diabetes as a result of the accident. That too, is apparently improving and she is on oral medication, rather than shots now. We hope this will disappear….eventually.
Amy and Brett went to see her and felt she was “back”….good news, as we haven’t seen her for a week. The Social Worker did say that once she gets tired, she just can’t function…so they have to stop and let her get some rest. Not surprising, considering what she has been through!!
